WHAT THE LORD IS SAYING TODAY
"You heard what I said, and did what I told you to. It turned out for your benefit, and for My glory. Let this be a lesson to you. It will never be as bad or as hard as the enemy of your soul whispers to you. My ways are better than your ways. Keep tuned in to Me. Ask Me when something comes up that you don’t know what to do. Blessings follow when you say what I say, or do what I tell you to do. Sometimes you don’t want to ask for fear that it may interrupt what you already have scheduled. But My ways are always best.

WORD FROM GOD FOR US ALL
"But now, this is what the LORD says—
he who created you, O Jacob,
he who formed you, O Israel:
'Fear not, for I have redeemed you;
I have summoned you by name; you are mine.
When you pass through the waters,
I will be with you;
and when you pass through the rivers,
they will not sweep over you.
When you walk through the fire,
you will not be burned;
the flames will not set you ablaze.
God is reminding us to fear not for whatever may come our way in 2009. He has rescued us, called us by our name to be His servants and we are His. No matter what trails face us we will not be harmed. The waters will not pull us under or the fires will not consume us. I know many have had some difficult times this year, but I know God is encouraging us all in the second verse. We just need to continue to seek God and focus on Him. Remember the power of Him in you is mightier that the power of him in the world.
Then I read further and was drawn to the following two verses. Now these really spoke into my heart...
Verses 18 and 19.
Forget the former things;
do not dwell on the past.
See, I am doing a new thing!
Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?
I am making a way in the desert
and streams in the wasteland.
Well 2008 is behind us and God is saying forget the things of last year; they are behind us. We are not to dwell on the past, but look up to God. As I and many others have felt God is about to do a mighty new thing in 2009. This is a new season. I really feel that God is saying this to us. The Holy Spirit is springing up but do we see it? Can we see the winds of change that are coming? God is making a way for us in our deserts. When I say our deserts, I am not talking about sand dunes and lack of rain here, but the spiritual deserts we see all around us. Many of us live in this desert of spiritual deadness; especially those of us in the Western Word. God is ignored, rejected and evil seems to be everywhere. Even the atheists are putting messages on buses in London saying, “There is no God, no go on and enjoy your life.” Well, God is making streams in these wastelands. I really felt God saying that we (the born again spirit filled believers of Jesus) are the streams in the wasteland; washing over the dryness and bringing new life through the Living Waters of The Holy Spirit into those we touch. The Holy Spirit is ready to spring up in us, so that we can go out into our deserts and wash over the lost souls. Let us go into our neighbourhoods and wash those who need cleansing of their sins.
Father God, I thank you for your Living Word. Lord I thank you that you are about to do a New thing in this year, and we believe Lord for many souls that will be saved in the coming months as your Holy Spirit springs up in us and washes over our deserts bringing new life in abundance to all it touches. I pray Lord for a fresh anointing to everyone reading this message of your Holy Spirit, may they come to know you in a new and fresh way, through this revelation from your Word. Father help us to be bold and to preach the Good News to all we meet in the wastelands we traverse. Help us to perceive what you are doing and to step out in faith as we look to you. Help us Lord to be your workers in the harvest! Come Holy Spirit! Rain down on us, Lord, let your fire fall. We pray for an overflowing of your Spirit that we can pass on to others. Let your Spirit come down on us like a dammed river with the floodgates open. Thank you Father that you are with us through all our trails and you promise us that we will always be safe. Protect us Lord with the blood of your Son Jesus who died for us. Keep us from temptation and deliver us from all evil. In Jesus mighty name I pray, AMEN.
